We had decided in 2016 that for the first time we would present our tours to volcanically active destinations directly to interested globetrotters at the Adventure Travel Show which was held in London over the weekend of 21-22 January 2017.

As we did not have any previous experience with having a stand at a travel exhibition the final weeks before the show were quite ... intense... Finally we had gathered all our exhibiting material and flown to London where on Friday afternoon the 20th of January we could see it all coming together whilst we were preparing our stand for The Big Weekend to come!

We had no idea what to expect, but the number of people who stopped by our stand to have a chat with us, either purposefully so or drawn in by Tom´s fantastic photography that decorated our stand, was beyond any expectations that we could have had! Without the help of our friends Jim and Sarah Keir, whom we met during our Danakil volcano expedition in November 2015 and who were the driving force behind us trying out to exhibit at this particular show, we would never have been able to manage the questions, inquiries and curiosity of the travel show visitors. So once again thank you ever so much Jim and Sarah!!! And although our Sunday presentation on Africa´s active lava lake was no competition for the simultaneous chat with Simon Reeves, British television´s most adventurous traveler, we still drew a modest but interested audience.

We really enjoyed chatting with interested travelers and explaining about active volcanoes as travel destinations - it was great experience for us and we are very grateful for everyone who came to see us at the show. We hope that both this year and all those to follow will have many great travel adventures in store for you!
